Interview with Vinod Bangera, Founder and Proprietor of Systematic Inc

Paradigm Shift in the event space is the second edition of the team.i instagram live series. Through this series, we aimed at providing a common platform for all those interested in understanding and contributing to the future of the Events and Entertainment Industry after this entire pandemic situation. As we all know that the economy has been hit hard due to the pandemic and its effect can be felt strongly in various industries especially the Events and Entertainment Industry. Thus, through our live series we look to answer some key questions and queries of concern related to this dynamic industry that are being constantly asked by freshers, students and employees of this industry. 

On a lovely Friday evening, 12th of June at 8pm, we had Mr.Vinod Bangera, Founder and Proprietor of Systematic inc., join Mr. Arvind, CEO of team.i on the 9th session of our Instagram live series “Paradigm Shift in the Event Space”. 

About yourself:

Mr. Vinod started off as a production manager in a company Geeta Electricals in Mangalore. After working there for 3 years, he moved to Bangalore where another branch was opening up. He worked there in Bangalore for 8 years, and that’s when he decided to venture out on his own. This is how Systematic inc. was born in 2010.

Since then Mr. Vinod has done several shows. “I have done more than 800 or 1000 plus shows, with roughly 200 shows per year.”

How has this lockdown been for you and your company?

“My ultimate aim was to retain the team in the first place because it took so many years for me to build a team and I have always said that it’s not possible for us to run the company alone.” Says Mr. Vinod about how his first priority and importance was his team during this lockdown. He says further that he keeps in regular touch with his teammates.

Past 3 weeks, their office has opened up with only local employees coming in for work every alternate day.

Speaking further on what they have been doing in past weeks during lockdown, Mr. Vinod and his team have set up a studio in their office’s warehouse for singers and musicians to jam in and this will be broadcasted live around different platforms. This setup has everything that a concert does except the lighting. It has lighting, stage, dj,audio visuals, proper sound systems etc. The whole idea behind this is to provide a concert to everyone at home. “This is something new and is going to happen for the first time in our country”.

Any Confirmed on ground events for the upcoming months?

“Other than this concept, we have few enquiries and possible bookings. There have been few enquiries regarding virtual concerts too”.

So the markets are opening up?

“For the first 3 months we had no calls even there were no fake enquiries but now at least we have calls coming up so people started beginning their ideas Sharing their ideas this is how we are going to do things. So, we all are in hope that things will fall very soon. “ Says Mr. Vinod. Further on this he feels that the entire pandemic will end soon, and things will be back to normal very soon.

“We all are in the same ocean, but different boats”.

How will you deal with licenses for your concert?

“I don’t think for YouTube and FB streaming you need a license but if it’s needed we have to take and the cost is beared by the person who’s doing it.”

Advice for the young people:

“I would say just stick to it now, the things are going to fall in place there is no chance that this can be like this forever, it’s all a matter of time. I somehow feel in one or two months we will be back on track” Says Mr. Vinod.

He further advises the young kids to always keep their learning curves on.

“Never say you know everything. The day you think you know everything, that’s when everything ends.” That’s some valuable piece of advice by Mr.Vinod for the youngsters out there.
