team.i Student Rashmitha Ravi Sharing Her Experience Of Being A Part Of The Bangalore Film Festival

“On an average, how much do you suppose a person would spend on watching a movie in a theater?!

Well let’s rephrase the same question, how much have you recently spent to watch a movie?!

Would you believe it if I said that Surbhi, my classmate and I got a chance to watch a movie at a PVR Theater at no cost and the best part, we got recliner seats!

Wondering how this happened?

The Bengaluru International Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Bengaluru each year which previews films of all genres including documentaries from around the world.

A little history:

Founded in 1996, Suchitra Bangalore International Film Festival was held for a week from 22nd to 28th December 2006 in collaboration with the Suchitra Film Society.

More than 100 films were screened during the festival.

The film festival is now being organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and is supported by the Government of Karnataka.

This year witnessed the 13th Edition of the film festival, and it was no less than a spectacle for movie critics, journalists, bloggers, vloggers and entertainment industrialists.

Having taken place between the 3rd of March to the 10th of March 2022, this year saw more than 200 Movies being screened and among them a few movies received great recognition as well.

One such movie that bagged the second-best movie award was ‘Gandhi and Co.’ produced by Mahesh Danannavar, an alumni of team.i.

The movie is beautifully depicted around Mintoo & Mitra, two eleven year olds who over the course of time and a series of unexpected life lessons learn the Gandhi way of handling circumstances.

“A film I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend everyone, especially the younger generation to watch as it decodes a wonderful message, one that only comes through films belonging to this genre of films.” – As said by Rashmitha Ravi.
